Welcome to the website for Ames’ premiere event of the summer – Ames on the Half Shell at Bandshell Park (on the corner of Duff Ave and 6th Street). Every Friday in June and July at 5 p.m., the Ames Jaycees host a party downtown where everyone goes to relax, get together with friends, or meet new people. Please note that since alcohol is being sold, you must be at least 21 years old to enjoy these beverages at Ames on the Half Shell, so bring your ID! Those under 21 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
