Welcome to the website for Ames’ premiere event of the summer – Ames on the Half Shell at Bandshell Park (on the corner of Duff Ave and 6th Street). Every Friday in June and July at 5 p.m., the Ames Jaycees host a party downtown where everyone goes to relax, get together with friends, or meet new people. Please note that since alcohol is being sold, you must be at least 21 years old to enjoy these beverages at Ames on the Half Shell, so bring your ID! Those under 21 years old must be accompanied by a parent, spouse or guardian. $3 to get in and beer and wine tokens are $3 each. We will be serving Budweiser products and Prairie Moon Wine. Pop and water tokens are $1 each. Each week we feature a local food vendor and they sell their items at their own rates.
Last Ames on the Halfshell this Friday!
The last Ames on the Halfshell of the 2010 season will be this Friday, July 30th from 5-8pm at Bandshell Park. Saucy Jack will be hitting the stage starting at 5pm! Special thanks to Hap’s Air Service, Farm Bureau – Jarod Petersen, and our food vendor Olde Main. The Ames Jaycees would also like to extend a very special thanks to our season sponsors for helping us put on so many great shows throughout the 2010 season.
